The National Landlords Association has launched its 2010 Property Women Awards to celebrate the UK’s best female landlords.

The annual event will see winners from each region honoured, as well as the NLA Green Property Woman Award for eco-conscious behaviour and a NLA Young Property Woman Award for women under 30 who have made their mark on the property market.

Two new awards are also being launched this year: the NLA Letting Agent Property Woman Award recognising the work of female letting agents, and the NLA Local Authority Property Woman Award for a female council officer who can demonstrate a creative engagement with their local rental sector.

Property consultant Melissa Porter, who will present the awards at a ceremony on 24 June in London, said: “It's so important to celebrate women who are not only transforming the property market with their business savvy approach, but also their lives and the lives of their tenants.

“This year the awards have been expanded to include letting agents and women working within the private-rented sector for local authorities. These women do a fantastic job and it’s great to see them being recognised.”

Nomination forms can be found online at www.propertywomenawards.org.uk. Entries close at 12 noon on Monday 12 April.
